The semi-rigid thoracoscope combines the best features of the flexible and rigid instruments. Since the practice with this instrument is limited in China, the diagnostic utility of semi-rigid thoracoscopy (namelymedicalthoracoscopy) under local anesthesia for undiagnosed exudative pleural effusions was evaluated.
